According to the annual Expat Insider Survey conducted by InterNations, Thailand has made it to the top 10 countries for expats to reside. This survey evaluates various factors such as quality of life, personal finance, ease of settling in, and more, and ranks 53 countries across the globe. Thailand’s latest rankings see it move up to 6th place from 8th place in 2022, and a significant improvement from 14th place in 2021.

The survey found that Thailand is the perfect destination for thrifty expats and that expats’ money goes a long way in Thailand. One of the biggest draws for expats is the availability of affordable housing, with 76% of respondents indicating that housing is affordable, double the global average.

While Thailand ranks 30th for the affordability of healthcare, 72% of expats are satisfied with their financial situation. Safety is a concern for many expats, but they appreciate the friendliness of Thai people, with the majority describing them as friendly.

The rise in Thailand’s rankings suggests that the country continues to appeal to those seeking an affordable and comfortable lifestyle. With its beautiful beaches, delicious cuisine, and rich cultural heritage, it’s no wonder that Thailand is a popular destination for expats looking to settle in a vibrant and welcoming community.
